Contributing to the expansion and promotion of the local game industry in the city of Busan
The Busan Information Industry Promotion Agency and NAVER Cloud Platform announced on the 12th that they have signed an agreement to cooperate in hosting a conference specialized in the game industry in Busan, along with the cooperation on the “Game Platform Service Package Support” project promoted by the Busan Global Game Center this year.
The agreement was set to strengthen the capabilities of local game companies while creating a new environment to enhance profitability in the overall game market. The Game Platform Service Package Support project will send direct deposits to game companies in Busan and Gyeong-nam to cover expenses for operation and management, give 1-year credit for the usage of NAVER’s cloud platform, which costs 300,000 won per month, and provide education and consultation for game business.
The Game Platform Service Package Support project will select beneficiaries through a recruitment announcement in May, and a new online conference about games will be introduced in the second half of this year.
The integrated management service for game operation, the GAMEPOT, allows companies to embed necessary software functionalities for games easily and quickly, and it operates on the most reliable and fast cloud infrastructure from NAVER Cloud Platform.
For the expansion of game industry, NAVER Cloud will continuously provide top-notch software tools for game companies to utilize and create exceptional games.
An official from the Busan Information Industry Promotion Agency said,
“Through an agreement with NAVER Cloud Platform, we will continue to make efforts to strengthen the expertise and global capabilities of local game developers by holding a game-specialized conference.”
GAMEPOT running on NAVER Cloud’s cloud infrastructure, is currently being operated on 70 game companies, such as GRAVITY, Moai Games, GamePub, and ThumbAge, said Joo-hwan Bae, the general director of NAVER Cloud’s game business. Then, he added, “We will work harder to develop and expand the local game industry and help game companies stand on their own.”
The Busan Information Industry Promotion Agency operates the Busan Global Game Center with the support of the Busan Metropolitan Government, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Korea Creative Content Agency.
